OpenChatKit

A free alternative to ChatGPT is OpenChatKit, created by the Together open-source community. OpenChatKit has been optimised with 43 million chat-specific instructions using EleutherAI’s GPT-NeoX, a 20 billion-parameter language model, outperforming the base model in the HELM benchmark. A basic chatbot and resources for creating unique chatbot apps are provided in the kit.

It includes the following four main parts: 1) A GPT-NeoX-20B-based large language model that has been optimised for conversation 2) Instructions for fine-tuning the model for particular activities 3) A flexible retrieval system that updates bot responses from a variety of sources, such as news feeds or Wikipedia. 4) A moderating function to control which queries the bot responds to using GPT-JT-6B.
