In the Centaur Bard project, artificial intelligence (AI), more especially GPT-3, is used to write poems that may be virtually indistinguishable from works written by humans in terms of reader resonance. It developed out of an interest in seeing if AI could produce engaging poetry on its own without starting with human-provided material.
Three AI-guided stages make up the creative process: coming up with titles and opening lines; writing the main body using contemporary free verse poetry as inspiration; and finally, coming up with an intriguing finish. Each poem is beautifully visualised in addition to the textual works, which raises philosophical queries regarding who actually created the piece. The synthesis argues that each masterpiece was jointly created by the machine, the programmer, and the original lyrical thoughts.
