GPT-4, a multimodal model that accepts both text and image inputs but only responds in text, has been unveiled by OpenAI. Although it is hailed as being more imaginative and accurate, it can still “hallucinate” or produce offensive material.
On their YouTube channel, OpenAI will present a live demo of GPT-4 for the general public. Developers can sign up for a waitlist for API access, and ChatGPT Plus subscribers currently have access to GPT-4. GPT-4 is being incorporated into products from businesses like Duolingo, Stripe, Khan Academy, and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot. Each 1,000 “prompt” tokens costs $0.03, and each 1,000 “completion” tokens cost $0.06.
